Amelia Bullmore stars in "Twenty Twelve" on BBC America as Kay Hope.

After bit-parts such British series as "Coronation Street" and crime dramas including "Cracker," in the late 1990s, Amelia Bullmore proved to have a strong talent as a comedy actress, playing multiple roles in such major U.K. series such as "Brass Eye," "Big Train" and "Jam" before landing a key role in the long-awaited second series of "I'm Alan Partridge" as Alan's sex-hungry Ukrainian girlfriend Sonja.

In addition to these impressive acting credits, Bullmore is a gifted writer who penned two episodes of "This Life" before becoming a finalist for the 2000 Dennis Potter Award for her first 90-minute drama, "The Middle."

She continues to show her versatility in both drama and comedy acting, having appeared in the hit BBC drama "State of Play" as well as Five's black comedy "Suburban Shootout." She also provided voices for multiple characters in Radio 4's acclaimed spoof phone-in show "Down the Line." More recently, she had a recurring role in BBC's crime drama "Ashes to Ashes" and starred in ITV's "Scott & Bailey."

Films include "Endgame," "Festival," "The Truth" and "Mrs. Dalloway."

Bullmore made her Broadway debut in "The Norman Conquests" at Circle in the Square. A regular at London's Royal Court and National Theatre, she is also a playwright whose works have won several important awards, including the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for her play "Mammals."
