"Amish Mafia" is a reality docu-series on Discovery Channel that provides a first-ever look at the men who protect and maintain peace and order within the Amish community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Untrusting of outside law enforcement, some Amish in Lancaster County have for many years regularly turned to a small organized group of men for protection and justice. The 2006 School shootings in Lancaster County during which five young Amish girls were killed and five more seriously injured by a non-Amish milk truck driver brought to the nation's attention the vulnerabilities of the Amish community, and their need for continued protection.

When you think of the Amish, buggies, bonnets, peace and simplicity come to mind. In the historic Amish settlement of Lancaster, protection and "peace" can come at a price. Lebanon Levi is the Amish insider who holds the power and serves as protector of the community for a price. He exists above the law and occupies the role of police, judge and jury. Levi's team engages in a life outside of Amish and non-Amish community codes as he quietly exerts his influence and control. Levi's brand of order is precise as he seeks to keep outside forces from infiltrating the Amish community, while keeping the principles and morality within the community in check.

Levi's team is lean and fearless. Alvin is Levi's right hand man and nobody gets to Levi without going through Alvin first. A lifelong friend, Alvin is at first glance an average passive Amish community member. However, he has a dark side, a past, and most importantly, Levi's complete trust. Alvin will protect Levi at any cost. Other group members include Jolin, a Mennonite who serves as Levi's foot soldier, and John, the youngest member of the group. As a non-Amish member of the group, Jolin has the freedom and ability to carry out punishments of all levels against offenders. John, the junior member of the group, is the son of the late former protector who maintained peace in the community for many years before Levi took power. John struggles with his desire to follow in his father's footsteps and take Levi's place as the head of the group.

This is a side of Amish society that exists under the radar, and the Amish church denies the group's existence. The series provides eyewitness accounts of the incidents, misdeeds and wrongdoings within the Amish community, as well as a rare look at Levi and his team members who work together to maintain harmony. To protect participants and their family members, some identifying information and property has been changed. Some scenes have been reenacted.

Season 2

In the new season, Levi continues to maintain order as he seeks to keep outside forces from infiltrating the Amish community. But nearby, several rivals are determined to take away his power and bring him down. Levi is forced to stand and fight, or forever lose his authority.

Levi must reconstruct and rebuild his crew after his right hand man Alvin is arrested in Florida. Having also lost crew member Jolin, a trained fighter with deep ties to both the Amish and Mennonite communities, Levi makes the decision to hire Caleb, a young and troubled member of the Brethren community. Levi will need all the help he can get as the newly unshunned Merlin sets his sights on taking over Lancaster and bringing Levi down.

But Merlin is not the only problem Levi will face. Levi's former friend Alan is released from prison and believes that Levi turned him into the local authorities, leading to his four month stint in jail. In addition to Levi's rivalries, this season will also continue to document the plight of Esther and her brothers John and Freeman. Esther returns from North Dakota with her brothers in tow, ready to reclaim her family's once proud name. But with John on the run from Levi and rumors of Freeman's demonic possession surfacing, Esther will be forced with a difficult decision.

Season 3

In the new season, Levi struggles to keep outside forces from infiltrating the Amish community. Both old and new rivals are lurking nearby, determined to take away Levi's power and bring him down once and for all. Levi must stand his ground and expand his territory to other parts of the country, or risk forever losing his authority.
