Amy Hoggart stars in "Almost Royal" on BBC America as Poppy Carlton, who is looking forward to raising her profile on the trip around America. Poppy has high hopes of finding fame as a pop-star/actor/author/lifestyle-guru/cookery presenter. Poppy has all of the self-delusion required to find fame without having a scrap of talent.

Amy Hoggart started writing and performing comedy with the Cambridge Footlights. After graduating she met Sarah Campbell and the two went on to form sketch act "Christmas for Two." BBC Online recognized their talents and commissioned sketches for their online comedy platform, and they took a critically acclaimed show to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011.

2012 saw Hoggart's focus shift to solo work, and she spent much of the year honing her most beloved character creation "Pattie Brewster." Pattie is a cat-collecting landlady and author of several self-help books (not for publication, just for her). Hoggart's first solo Edinburgh show was a sell-out success and received lots of industry attention and lovely reviews including four stars from Chortle.

In 2013 Hoggart further developed Pattie for both her second Edinburgh Fringe show and a guest slot on Radio 4 Extra. She also started writing with fellow comedian Max Dickins, and the duo created a cult series of improvised characters who vlog on their YouTube channel.
