Andre Iguodala is a basketball player competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for the USA.

After starting all nine games for the U.S. at the 2010 World Championships, Andre Iguodala makes his Olympic debut in London. In his first stint with the senior national team, he averaged 5.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game at the 2010 Worlds. Previously, Iguodala was chosen for the USA Select Team that trained with and scrimmaged against the senior team before the 2007 FIBA Americas tournament and the 2008 Olympics. He was also on the 2002 U.S. Under-18 World Championship Qualifying Team that won a silver medal.

Drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the ninth overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft, Iguodala has become one of the league's best defensive players. He's finished in the top 10 in steals in six of his eight professional seasons, and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2010-11. Iguodala has started every game of his career, averaging 15.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. He earned his first trip to the NBA All-Star Game in 2012, and made the All-Rookie First Team in 2005.

Iguodala played two seasons at the University of Arizona, where he averaged 9.6 points and 6.6 rebounds in 62 games (34 starts). He majored in education. Prior to college, he attended Lanphier High School in Springfield, Ill., where he also earned three letters in track & field. In 2001, Iguodala was named the AAU national tournament MVP after making a game-winning shot at the buzzer to give his team the Under-17 national title. The son of Leonard and Linda Shanklin, Iguodala also has a brother, Frank, who played basketball at Lake Land College (Matoon, Ill.; 2000-02) and the University of Dayton (2002-04).

Iguodala is active in charitable causes, most notably raising $35,000 for the Andre Iguodala Disaster Relief Fund, which he established in March 2006 to raise money for tornado victims in Springfield. He donated $500 for every point, rebound and assist that he tallied on April 2, 2006, and he finished with 20 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds for a total of $19,000. He also organized an online auction and asked for in-arena donations that night. Iguodala has also hosted a book drive that brought in more than 2,600 new children's books, and a Caps for Kids Drive, which collected more than 1,400 new hats that were given to local children's hospitals.
