Ayanna Corbin from "The First 48: Missing Persons" is one of the police detectives featured in the A&E reality series.

During high school, Det. Ayanna Corbin spent a year in Washington as a Congressional page. Her father, a 25-year Chicago Police veteran, untintentionally inspired her to join the department. "He asked me if I knew any guys who want to become police and handed me a stack of applications," she remembers. "I thought it was kind of funny he only said `guys.' So I turned in my application. The rest is history." Corbin has been with Missing Persons for a decade.

Corbin has a full schedule off-duty, too. She and her husband, a Chicago public school teacher, have a blended family of five children.
