After blasting away the competition to become the most-watched cable miniseries of 2003, "Battlestar Galactica" returned to SCI FI Channel as a regular series.  "Battlestar Galactica" has received the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award and three 2006 Emmy Award nominations in the categories of Outstanding Costumes for a Series, Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing, and Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series.

One of television's most critically-acclaimed dramas, 'Battlestar Galactica' has captured the minds of a new generation of fans, distinguishing itself with the intensity and present day relevance of its stories and the command performances of its ensemble cast and creative team.

Emmy Award winner Edward James Olmos ("Stand and Deliver," "Blade Runner") stars on "Battlestar Galactica" as Commander Adama, the hawkish military leader of the last surviving battleship. Mary McDonnell (NBC's "ER," "Dances with Wolves") is Laura Roslin, the President, who has her own convictions about how the human race is to survive. Katee Sackhoff ("The Education of Max Bickford") portrays Adama's best pilot, Starbuck. She and Apollo (Jamie Bamber, "Band of Brothers"), face their own set of challenges on "Battlestar Galactica."

Season 3 of "Battlestar Galactica" promises even more of the drama, intrigue and action that viewers have come to expect from the series. Picking up where last season's cliffhanger finale left off, the "Battlestar Galactica" crew discovers a habitable planet, but things become even further complicated when the Cylons, led by Caprica Six (Tricia Helfer) and Sharon (Grace Park), find the planet and offer humanity a stunning proposal of peace. This season, Lucy Lawless joins the cast for a 10-episode arc, reprising her role as D'Anna Biers, a Cylon.

Executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, "Battlestar Galactica" is from NBC Universal Television Studio, in association with SKY One.
