"Bella and the Bulldogs" is a comedy series on Nickelodeon that follows a perky head cheerleader named Bella Dawson (Brec Bassinger, "The Haunted Hathaways") whose life in Texas takes an unexpected twist when she becomes the new quarterback for her school team, the Bulldogs.

In this new comedy ripped right out of this year's headlines of girls playing traditionally "boy" sports, Bella, a confident, caring and talented teenager, suddenly finds herself fulfilling a lifelong dream but also having to navigate the world of her teammates Troy (Coy Stewart, "Are We There Yet?"), the team's dethroned quarterback, along with his pint-sized sidekick, Newt (Buddy Handleson, "Wendell & Vinnie"), without losing her two best friends, Pepper (Haley Tju) and Sophie (Lilimar Hernandez) from the cheer squad. Rounding out the cast is Jackie Radinsky as true southern cowboy, Sawyer.

In the series premiere, head cheerleader Bella earns a chance to try out to be quarterback of her middle school football team. Led by current quarterback Troy, the rest of the team does everything in their power to make her give up, but through perseverance, Bella rises to the challenge to make her dream a reality.

"Bella and the Bulldogs" is written by Gabriel Garza and Jonathan Butler ("The Haunted Hathaways," "Fanboy & Chum Chum"), who were discovered through Nickelodeon's Writing Program. Jeff Bushell serves as executive producer.
