On "Ben 10," each of the alien hero's powers focus on one specialty: fire, strength, supernatural, geological, size, swimming, technology, athletic ability, flight or speed. It is up to Ben to determine which superhero alien is needed and when to activate it using The Omnitrix. Sometimes The Omnitrix has a mind of its own and will accidentally choose a different alien than the one Ben picked, leading him into some difficult situations. The Omnitrix has many secrets that Ben will learn to unlock over time, allowing him to grow his powers and strength.
On "Ben 10," the Omnitrix is the most powerful weapon in the Universe. Being so valuable, it catches the eye of an intergalactic bad guy named Vilgax who will stop at nothing to get The Omnitrix away from Ben.
When Ben's not tangling with Vilgax's cronies or other earthbound villains on "Ben 10," he is traveling the country in his Grandpa Max's RV. Grandpa Max is a good-humored and open-minded mentor who wants to put a little more excitement into his grandson's life by taking him on a cross-country summer vacation. Ben and Grandpa are joined on their road trip by Ben's cousin Gwen, who is smart, level-headed and not exactly thrilled to be along for the ride. Still, as the voice of reason, she's invaluable in times of chaos, which is pretty much all the time.
Ben's main challenges on "Ben 10" are finding the best way to harness his power and making good decisions about when to summon his inner superheroes. It's a good thing that his worldly and wise grandfather and shrewd cousin Gwen are there to keep him in check – and bail him out of trouble when he needs it.
