Bernard Gaboury from "Gem Hunt," aka Bernie Gaboury, is one of the co-hosts of the Travel Channel reality series.

As the CEO of Syner Gem Limited, geologist Bernard Gaboury acquires rough gemstones for the purpose of manufacturing and marketing and offers lapidary services for custom cutting as well as re-cutting. Other services that his company offers include geological and gemmological consulting with emphasis on development of mining properties, as well as lapidary testing of gem materials

for economic viability. He was responsible for the evaluation and pre-planning of the development of a placer sapphire/gold deposit in southern Madagascar between 2006 and 2010. He previously was the CEO and COO of Terra Nova Gems and worked as a project manager for Madacana Holdings Ltd., Granges Inc. and Xplorx.

Gaboury has expertise in geological exploration in uranium, gold, base, platinum, precious metals, industrial minerals, and gemstones, as well as the maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems pertaining to field camp operations. He is well versed in planning underground development and conducting underground mapping and diamond drilling.

Gaboury graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Manitoba, where he earned both his B.S. in Physical Chemistry and his M.S. in Geochemistry.
