Blake Lively stars in "Gossip Girl" on The CW as Serena van der Woodsen.

On the big screen, Blake Lively stars as Carol Ferris in the action adventure "Green Lantern," based on the long-running DC Comics series alongside Ryan Reynolds. Lively also recently starred to great acclaim in the feature film "The Town," opposite Ben Affleck, as Krista. The role, a huge departure from her "Gossip Girl" persona, impressed critics and audiences alike.

with her first starring role, in the 2005 hit "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," for which she earned a Teen Choice Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Performance. In 2008, she reprised her role in the sequel, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2."

Lively's additional film credits include the comedy "Accepted," with Justin Long and Jonah Hill; the independent feature "Elvis & Annabelle," opposite Max Minghella and Mary Steenburgen, for which Lively won the Newport Film Festival Award for Breakout Performance; the Brett Ratner-directed segment of the anthology film "New York, I Love You"; and the indie drama "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee," in which she starred with Keanu Reeves, Robin Wright Penn, Julianne Moore and Alan Arkin for writer/director Rebecca Miller.

Lively was honored at the December 2006 Hollywood Life Breakthrough Awards.

She resides in Los Angeles.
