"Cars 2" (movie) is an animated comedy from Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios. "Cars 2" reunites movie audiences with good-hearted racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen WIlson) and his best friend, the incomparable tow trucker Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy). The two cars jump-start a new adventure, traveling to exotic new lands stretching across the globe.
The duo are joined by a hometown pit crew from Radiator Springs when they head overseas to support Lightning as he competes
in the first-ever World Grand Prix, a race created to determine the world's fastest car. But the road to the finish line is filled with plenty of potholes, detours, and bombshells, as Mater is mistakenly ensnared in the dangerous world of international espionage.
Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning in the high-profile race and "towing" the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British spy Finn McMissle (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer). Mater's thrilling, action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan, Italy, France, and England. The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new cast of cars, boats, trains, and automobiles, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.
Pixar's 12th full-length animated film, the release of "Cars 2" coincides with the famed studio's 24th anniversary. "Cars 2" is directed by John Lasseter, the create leader of Pixar and chief creative officer for Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. The film is co-directed by Brad Lewis and produced by visual-effects veteran Denise Ream. As with all of Pixar's films, the score is composed by Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino. The cast includes Owen Wilson, John Turturro, Michael Caine, Larry the Cable Guy, John Ratzenberger, Joe Mantegna, Eddie Izzard, Vanessa Redgrave, and many more.
