Charlie Murphy stars in "Black Jesus" on Adult Swim.

Charlie Murphy is a stand-up comedian who got his first big break as a cast member of the sketch-comedy series "Chappelle's Show." Since then, Charlie has toured nationally with the "I'm Rich Bitch" comedy tour, featuring fellow "Chappelle's Show" cast members Bill Burr and Donnell Rawlings. "Charlie Murphy and Friends" and a co-headlining tour with Mike Epps followed. Next, Charlie co-headlined the twenty-city "Maxim/Bud Light Real Men of Comedy Tour" with Joe Rogan and John Heffron. Soon afterwards came the headline tour "I Will Not Apologize," which also aired as a special on Comedy Central.

A career spanning two decades, Murphy has worked with top Hollywood talent such as Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Eddie Murphy, Danny Aiello, Terrance Howard, Gabrielle Union, Queen Latifah, Vanessa Williams, Rip Torn, Peter Falk, Redd Fox, Angela Bassett, Wesley Snipes, Jamie Foxx, Samuel Jackson and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Murphy's feature films include "The Guys Who Move Furniture" with Will Sasso, "Lottery Ticket," starring Bow Wow and Ice Cube, "Our Family Wedding," alongside Forest Whitaker and Carlos Mencia, "A Perfect Holiday," opposite Gabriel Union and Queen Latifah, "Kings Ransom," starring Anthony Anderson, Jay Mohr and Donald Faison, "Roll Bounce," opposite Bow Wow and Mike Epps, Chris Rock's classic hip-hop parody "CB4," Spike Lee's "Jungle Fever" and "Mo' Betta Blues," "Unearthed," "Night at the Museum" and "Harlem Nights."

Charlie's screenwriting credits include "Norbit," starring Eddie Murphy, a remake of "The Incredible Shrinking Man," "Vampire In Brooklyn," "Paper Soldiers" for Jay-Z's Rockafella Films and "Tales of the Dogg," an animated pilot for Snoop Dogg and MTV. Charlie's voice is a favorite as Ed Wuncler III on Adult Swim's "The Boondocks," a Cat Named Rolo in the "Black Dynamite" animated series and "Freaknik The Musical" as The Perminator.

Charlie recently played the recurring role of Frank Kingston in TBS's comedy "Are We There Yet?" alongside Terry Crews and Keesha Sharpe. Charlie has also made guest appearances on a wide variety of television talk, variety and news shows, including "Lopez Tonight," "The Monique Show," "The Joy Behar Show" and Fox Business' "National Primetime Show."

Charlie wrote, produced and starred in "Charlie Murphy's Crash Comedy," a series of webisodes for Sony Entertainment's Crackle.com. His autobiographical book entitled "The Making of a Stand Up Guy," was published by Simon and Schuster.

Charlie's younger brother is actor and comedian Eddie Murphy.
