Chris Butler stars in the untitled private-eye drama on TNT formerly known as "King & Maxwell."

Actor Chris Butler previously played the recurring role of Matan Brody in CBS's drama "The Good Wife." He has also recurred in HBO's "True Blood" and ABC's "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place." Recent guest starring appearances include "Bones," "Private Practice," "Major Crimes," "Hollywood Heights," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Law & Order: SVU," "iCarly," "Torchwood," "Harry's Law," "Criminal Minds," "Rizzoli & Isles" and "24." Film credits include "The Longshots," "The Little Death," "Rescue Dawn," "Cradle 2 the Grave" and "Stephanie's Image."

Butler is a 2008/2009 Ovation Award nominee for Acting Ensemble for his work in "Stick Fly" at the Matrix Theatre Company. In 2005, he won Ovation, NAACP, LADCC and Garland Awards, for his work in the lead role of Eugene in the play "Yellowman" at the Fountain Theatre in Hollywood, California. He also starred as Noah Curry in Broadway's 2007 revival of "110 in the Shade" performed by the Roundabout Theatre Company and played Caesar Wilks in August Wilson's "Gem of the Ocean."

Other stage credits include Shakespeare Santa Cruz's "Julius Caesar" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Other notable roles include McMurphy in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (Rubicon Theatre); "McReele" (LATW); "Blue" (Pasadena Playhouse); "A Raisin in the Sun," "The Piano Lesson," "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Wild Oats" (Oregon Shakespeare Festival); "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (The Globe Theatre); "Romeo and Juliet" and "Much Ado About Nothing" (Shakespeare Festival LA); "The School for Wives" (La Jolla Playhouse); "The Tempest" (Southwest Repertory); "Anthony and Cleopatra" (Nevada Shakespeare in the Park); "The Visit" (Playmakers Repertory); and "Measure for Measure," "The Falcon's Pitch" and "Much Ado About Nothing" (Illinois Shakespeare).

Butler received his MFA in Acting from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and his BA in Dramatic Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
