Chris Carmack was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in a family of five in suburban Rockville, Maryland, where he loved playing all types of sports: baseball, basketball, football and wrestling. In high school, however, Chris Carmack's attentions turned to theatre and he began working passionately on three productions a year, on-stage and off, in addition to competing in numerous drama festivals. After two years of study in New York, Chris Carmack moved to Los Angeles and within one year, he had secured his role as Luke Ward on FOX's "The O.C."
Chris Carmack is also a devoted jazz and blues musician, playing both the saxophone and guitar.
