Christian Taylor is an athlete competing in track and field at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for the USA.

Taylor qualified for the Olympic team on his first jump in the men's triple jump final at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Ore. His mark of 17.63m/57-10 1/4 was enough to win the event and was his only legal jump of the competition.

Taylor stunned defending champion Phillips Idowu of Great Britain with a world leading leap of 17.96m/58-11.25 to win the triple jump gold at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea. Taylor's mark, which had him trending worldwide on Twitter, is the fifth longest in history, and only world-record-holder Jonathan Edwards of Great Britain has ever jumped farther at Worlds. Following the win, Taylor told AP that he and (Will) Claye have their sights set on gold at the Olympics and breaking the longtime world record of 60 feet 1/4 inch set by Edwards in 1995.

In three years competing for the University of Florida, Taylor was a 10-time NCAA All-American. He won two NCAA Indoor titles (2009 and 2010) and is the 2010 NCAA Outdoor champion. He chose to forgo his final year of collegiate eligibility and sign with Li-Ning.

Taylor was crowned the world youth triple jump champion and long jump bronze medalist at the 2007 World Youth Championships in Athletics. The following year he made the finals in both the long and triple jump at the 2008 World Junior Championships. At the NACAC U23 Championships, Taylor won the men's long and triple jump gold medals.
