Christine Ohuruogu is an athlete competing in track and field at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for Great Britain.

After struggling with injury for much of the 2011 season, Christine Ohuruogu was disqualified in the heats of the 400m for a false start. She then ran third-leg for Great Britain's 4x400m relay that took fourth place in 3:23.63.

Ohuruogu won Olympic 400m gold for Britain with a stunning surge down the home straight in Beijing. She crossed the line in 49.62 seconds to eclipse Jamaica's Shericka Williams and American favorite Sanya Richards-Ross. The win made Ohuruogu the first British female Olympic 400m champion. Ohuruogu ran in only five competitive races before the 400m final in Osaka, but she still managed to secure Great Britain's only gold medal at the meet in a personal-best 49.61 seconds, the second-fastest time in the world on the year and the . She also helped Great Britain to a bronze in the 4x100m relay.
