Claire Rushbrook stars in BBC America's "Whitechapel," as Dr. Caroline Llewellyn, and "The Fades," as Meg.

After leaving drama school, Claire Rushbrook spent five years working predominantly in theater. Her first major screen role was in Mike Leigh's "Secrets and Lies," opposite Brenda Blethyn. Since then Rushbrook has appeared in "Plunkett & Macleane," alongside Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carl, "Spiceworld," opposite the Spice Girls, "Shiner," with Michael Caine.

Rushbrook's UK television credits include the miniseries "Collision," "Mutual Friends," "Linda Green," opposite Liza Tarbuck, "Family Business," "The Stretford Wives," "Touching Evil" and "The Sins."

Her prolific stage work has included playing Fanny Hawthorne in "Hindle Wakes," Olga in Chekov's "Three Sisters" and "Fifty Revolutions" at the Whitehall Theatre. She has also performed as Tess in "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" and as the title role in "Nana," both for Radio 4.

Rushbrook's parents are both teachers, but her mother trained to be an actress. As a teenager, Rushbrook joined the same theater group as her mother and treated acting as a hobby until she left school. It wasn't until she decided to take a degree that she chose to make a career from acting.

Rushbrook is based in London but enjoys spending time with her family in Hertfordshire as well.
