Colin Lawrence stars in "The Killing" on AMC as Benjamin Abani.

Colin Lawrence was born to Jamaican parents in London, England, and raised in the suburbs of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He first signed on with a talent agent in hopes of fulfilling his modeling dreams, but when his agent approached him with the opportunity to audition for a movie, he went to the casting session and wound up landing the co-starring role of Tommy T in "Slam Dunk Ernest," opposite Jim Varney. Lawrence went on to land the recurring role of Major Warren on the popular sci-fi series "Stargate SG-1" and had the opportunity to work with former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the feature film "The 6th Day." Other notable feature film appearances include "X-Men 2," "Fantastic Four" and "Watchmen."

Lawrence has recurred in numerous hit series including Showtime's Emmy-nominated series "The L Word" and the critically-acclaimed, Emmy award-winning series "Battlestar Galactica." He has also guest-starred in many television series including "The 4400," "Blade: The Series," "Supernatural" and "Smallville."

In his spare time, Lawrence can be found in the kitchen or at his barbeque cooking up his favorite meals and entertaining family and friends.
