Dave Franco joins "Scrubs" as Cole, a 22-year-old medical student, who might rub people the wrong way. Previously, Franco played the recurring roles of Zachary on The CW's "Privileged" and Gonzo on ABC Family's "Greek." Franco also starred as Gus on FOX's "Do Not Disturb." He is the younger brother of actor James Franco.

Upcoming film projects for Franco include the Noah Baumbach film "Greenberg," which stars Ben Stiller and is set for release in March through Focus Features, and a role opposite Zac Efron in "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud," set for release in 2010.

Having burst onto the scene in 2008, Franco is steadily positioning himself as one of Hollywood's most promising young talents. He is often recognized for his role in the Funny or Die web series, "Acting with James Franco." The first installment in the series, "Sense Memory," is one of the most viewed videos on funnyordie•com, attracting over 120,000 views in its first month. An avid writer, Franco began writing well before he became involved in acting. His poetry has been published in Teen People magazine, and he has completed a number of scripts.

Born and raised in Palo Alto, California, he attended the University of Southern California where he majored in psychology with a minor in film.

His film credits include "Superbad" directed by Greg Mottola, "Milk," directed by Gus Van Sant, and "After Sex" directed by Eric Amadio. Franco also appeared in the films "The Shortcut," directed by Nicholaus Goossen and produced by Happy Madison, as well as "Bad Meat" directed by Rob Schmidt.

On television, Franco has appeared on the series "7th Heaven."

Acting is something he never imagined he'd be doing; he was shy in high school and discovered acting as a way to bring him out of his shell and challenge himself.

He currently resides in Los Angeles.
