David Rasche stars in "Impastor" on TV Land as Alden Schmidt, the church president and the only person who seems to be just a little suspicious of Buddy.

David Rasche began his career as an actor at Chicago's Second City in the 1970s, replacing John Belushi who left to do "Saturday Night Live."

On television, Rasche is best known for starring in the title role of "Sledge Hammer!" He also starred in NBC's "Nurses" and had recurring roles in ABC's "Black Box" and "Ugly Betty," HBO's "Veep" and "Bored to Death," AMC's "Rubicon," NBC's "DAG" and "Suddenly Susan," and CBS's "High Society," as well as the daytime soap operas "All My Children" and "Ryan's Hope." Guest starring appearances include "Blue Bloods," "Royal Pains," "Are We There Yet?," "Law & Order," "Las Vegas," "Monk" and "Miami Vice."

On the big screen, Rasche has been seen in the Coen Brothers' "Burn After Reading," Clint Eastwood's "Flags of our Fathers," Paul Greengrass'"Flight 93," "The Sentinel," alongside Michael Douglas and Kim Basinger, Peter Yates' "An Innocent Man," opposite Tom Selleck, "The Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood" with Sandra Bullock, "Just Married," starring Ashton Kutcher, Carl Reiner's "That Old Feeling" with Bette Midler, "Delirious," starring John Candy, Woody Allen's "Manhattan," "An Unmarried Woman" and "The Big Tease." More Rasche played the lead role in "Blue Eyes" and starred in "In the Loop" with James Gandolfini, the German film "Remembrance" and "The Discoverers" with Griffen Dunne.

On Broadway, Rasche has performed in David Mamet's "Speed the Plough," "Lunch Hour," directed by Mike Nichols, "Loose Ends" and "The Shadow Box." Off-Broadway credits include Chekhov's "The Seagull," for which he earned the Richard Seff award, Paul Rudnick's "Regrets Only" at Manhattan Theater Club, David Mamet's "Edmond" at the Atlantic Theater Company, Marsha Norman's "Last Dance" with JoBeth Williams at the Manhattan Theater Club, David Mamet's "Faust" at Magic Theater, San Francisco, and David Mamet's "No One Will Be Immune" at Ensemble Studio Theater.
