Demi Lovato is one of the judges on FOX's reality singing competition series "The X Factor." She also recently starred as Sonny Munroe on Disney Channel's comedy "Sonny with a Chance."

Singer and actress Demi Lovato started in show business as a pre-teen and rose quickly. By the time she was 15, she was a bona fide TV star cultivating a promising singing career. In the late 2000s, while maintaining a rigorous TV and film shooting schedule, Lovato released two massively successful solo albums,

"Don't Forget" (2008) and "Here We Go Again" (2009); the former debuted at No. 2, the latter at No. 1. She recently hit the studio with an all-star list of collaborators, including Timbaland, Jason Derulo, Ryan Tedder and Missy Elliot on her 2011 album "Unbroken." The first single, "Skyscraper," debuted at No. 1 on iTunes' chart and recently went Platinum. Lovato's new single, "Give Your Heart a Break," is cruising up the Top 40 radio charts, while the music video has reached over 10 million YouTube views, as she has some of the most engaged fans in the business. Earlier this year, Demi accepted the People's Choice Award for Favorite Pop Artist, an award chosen solely by the fans. In summer 2012, she embarked on a 21-date U.S. tour.

On television, Lovato starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Princess Protection Program" as Princess Rosalinda, an imperiled princess who is placed in the Princess Protection Program and assumes the identity of typical American teenager Rosie Gonzalez with the help of Carter, played by Demi Lovato's real-life best friend Selena Gomez.

Lovato also starred as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Camp Rock" as an immensely talented yet insecure singer who must learn to step into the spotlight and overcome her fears.

Lovato previously was known for her role as Angela on "Barney and Friends," a role she played for two years alongside her best friend, Selena Gomez ("Wizards of Waverly Place"). Lovato's television credits also include a starring role as Charlotte in the Disney Channel short-form series "As the Bell Rings," where she also showcased her singing talents, a lead role on Nickelodeon's "Just Jordan" and a guest appearance on 20th Century Fox's "Prison Break." She was also featured in national television commercials for Hasbro, the Fort Worth Zoo and DirecTV.

Born August 20, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, Lovato's singing talent parlayed her numerous pageants on both the local and state level from the time she was seven years old. After landing her role in "Barney and Friends," she studied under the leading area vocal coach, Linda Septien, winning a coveted invitation to her Master Class. Lovato also studied piano, guitar and songwriting, as well as hip-hop dance with local instructor Kat Garcia. During the years following "Barney," Lovato wrote over 100 songs, producing four in-studio including "Shadow," which helped her land the lead role in "As the Bell Rings."

Lovato has two sisters, Dallas and Madison, and resides in Los Angeles.
