Dexter Haygood from "The X Factor" is one of the top 17 contestants in the FOX reality singing competition series. He is a 49-year-old bar singer. He is currently living in Chicago, Illinois, but is originally from Memphis, Tennessee. He says he is a "rock n' roll soul man" who is living from "couch to couch" with no home. Back in the day, he toured with Hall and Oats.

act and asked him to sing a second song a capella. Haygood proceeded to sing "This Is a Man's World," prompting Simon to say, "That is what you call taking your moment. Good for you." All four judges vote yes to put Haygood through to boot camp.
