Didiayer Snyder may be known for strutting the catwalk in designs by the likes of Badgley Mischka, Randolph Duke, and Roberto Cavalli, but her stunning exterior has certainly never outshined her inner intelligence and enthusiasm for design.
Growing up in Australia, Didiayer Snyder discovered a knack for building at a young age. Didiayer Snyder was the only six-year old on the block to have built her own playhouse. Sure, it was constructed of rocks, sticks and brush, but it was beautifully decorated with bits and pieces she slyly scavenged from the family home. Early in life, garage sales and flea markets served as Didiayer Snyder's creative playground where she discovered that one person's trash proved to be a young designer's treasure.
Didiayer Snyder's talent for art became apparent when her pastime of painting and sculpting turned into a means of income. With design on the mind, Didiayer Snyder started to experiment in creating 3D murals for children's rooms and organizing friend's living spaces. Her fascination with organization turned into a full-time pursuit when she became a member of (NAPO) National Association of Professional Organizers and (NSGCD) National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization. By teaching others to eliminate clutter and get organized Didiayer Snyder has helped self-proclaimed "packrats" to stay the course of functional living. To take it one step further, this ambitious entrepreneur is in the process of developing an environmentally friendly, toxic free line of household cleaning products.
After studying carpentry and interior decorating at Ashworth University, and becoming a licensed home inspector, Didiayer Snyder had the good fortune to land a gig as the fun-loving hostess on the Travel Channel's, 'Amazing Vacation Homes.' What more could an apprentice carpenter ask for than the opportunity to travel the globe and explore well crafted homes while interviewing top notch architects like Obie Bowman, Steven Holl and Brian Mackay-Lyons.
Armed with an arsenal of knowledge and her trusty tool belt, Didiayer Snyder honed her carpentry skills working with Habitat for Humanity building wonderful new homes for under privileged families. Drywall, window installation, and kitchen sinks pose no problem for this hands-on handy-woman. Didiayer Snyder can add author to her list of accomplishments with, "On Your Mark", a how-to book educating young aspiring models on a healthy way to tackle the modeling industry. The book will hit the shelves early next year. Educating and inspiring others has been a soulful passion of Didiayer Snyder's and a very important part of her current endeavors. She travels throughout North America as a motivational speaker for young people, encouraging them to be all they can be.
Thus far, Didiayer Snyder's life has been a journey filled with desires and wishes to help others live in an environment that is clean, safe, and healthy. Saying she feels honored and privileged to join ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" team is an understatement. The opportunity to assist others in building a strong foundation for a happy, healthy, positive future is a dream come true.
