Dominick Cruz is an MMA fighter who is one of the coaches in Season 15 of the FX mixed martial arts competition series, "The Ultimate Fighter Live."

Dominick Cruz is the first ever UFC bantamweight champion, as well as the WEC bantamweight champion, Total Combat 145 & 155 lb champion and the No. 1 ranked ROTC fighter. He ranked No. 6 on Yahoo Sports! pound-for-pound MMA rankings.

Cruz grew up in Tuscon, Arizona, in a trailer with his mother and brother. Cruz was kicked out of home at age 19 for hosting a house party, but says that the experience was "the greatest thing that ever happened to me," because it forced him to become a man. Before becoming a fighter, he worked as a customer service representative. He also had wrestled his whole life and wanted to continue to compete.

Cruz currently lives in San Diego, California, where he trains three times on Mondays, twice on Tuesdays through Fridays, and once on Saturdays. He takes Sundays off. He mixes all the techniques of wrestling, BJJ, boxing, shootboxing, and kickboxing in his training.

Cruz is a wrestler and boxer who is stylistically similar to UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar. Cruz is very elusive on his feet with a peek-a-boo style — he fires off combos and moves out of harm's way before an opponent can return fire.
