Doug Caine from "Relapse" is one of the sober coaches on the A&E reality docu-series.

Doug Caine ("Relapse") was a good kid—he went to school, got decent grades and made friends. He played music, made some recordings and toured nationwide. But Doug continually befriended the wrong people, entered the wrong environments, ended up shooting heroin; living a toxic lifestyle.

He tried to recover all alone more than once—never with lasting success. Suffering relapse after relapse, Doug landed in

jailhouses up and down the state and became a regular in local hospitals and institutions. Homelessness, stealing, hustling, shooting dope in public restrooms... it was one rock bottom after another.

Every time he got loaded, everything got worse. Doug's worst period of active addiction ended like this: "quit using; die in prison; or die in the streets." Those were his options. A treatment center willing to bet on a charity case agreed to take him for a year. He got clean, built a reputation and went on to work for that facility. Doug started studying and learning addiction treatment in a residential program 1999 - he says he's never stopped learning.

In 2006, as a widely experienced, powerful and compassionate professional, Doug founded Sober Champion—an international sober coaching company offering services in 4 continents.

what a disgrace for a&e to think its okay to have someone who gets high with his clients and is a well known sex offender, headling a show about addiction. wow a&E is buisness that bad?
