HBO's "Enlightened" Season 2 is an off-beat series written by Mike White and starring Laura Dern as Amy, a self-destructive health and beauty executive who has a very public workplace meltdown. After three months of contemplation and meditation at a treatment center in Hawaii, Amy returns rested and ready to pick up the pieces of her old life and reshape the world she left behind. That includes delivering well-meaning, but generally unwanted advice to her mother Helen (Diane Ladd), with whom Amy is now living; her slacker ex-husband Levi (Luke Wilson) whose only solace comes from recreational drugs; and the crew of awkward co-workers Amy finds herself reassigned to. The series follows Amy as she navigates an unconventional path between who she is, who she wants to be ... and what everyone is willing to tolerate from her.

The "Enlightened" cast also includes Amy Hill, Charles Esten, Sarah Burns and Timm Sharp.

Season 2

At the conclusion of season one of "Enlightened," Amy Jellicoe finally presented her research on Abaddonn Industries' misconduct to the company, only to be laughed out of the room. Undeterred, she became more determined to bring down this bastion of corporate greed and corruption.

In season two, Amy redoubles her efforts to gather evidence against Abaddonn with the support of Tyler (White), her meek IT ally, and enlists journalist Jeff Flender in her cause. Meanwhile, Amy's ex, Levi, continues to struggle with rehab, and it remains to be seen if he will embrace recovery and return as the man she always wanted him to be.

Guest stars on the second season include Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding") as journalist Jeff Flender; Michaela Watkins ("The Back-Up Plan") as snooty colleague Janis; Amy Hill ("50 First Dates") as Judy, the no-nonsense HR rep who won't give Amy a break; and Molly Shannon ("Saturday Night Live") as the executive assistant to Abaddonn's CEO.

"Enlightened" was created by Mike White & Laura Dern; executive producers are Mike White, Laura Dern, Scott Stephens; supervising producer is David Bernad; and producers are Jayme Lemons, Dody Dorn and Jason Weinberg.
