"Finding Bigfoot" (Animal Planet TV show) is a reality docu-series following a team of Bigfoot researchers in a cross-country expedition to dissolve the myth and locate the elusive beast.

For hundreds of years, Americans in nearly every state have claimed they've spotted the mysterious and unexplainable creature known as Bigfoot, or Sasquatch. However, no one has proven that this pedaled creature—reportedly standing more than seven-feet tall and covered from head to toe in dark hair—actually exists. And as the myth grows, so does the passion for validating its existence once and for all!

In "Finding Bigfoot," a four-person team from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO)—the leading scientific research organization exploring the Bigfoot/Sasquatch mystery—investigates supposed Sasquatch sightings by interviewing locals, examining evidence and infiltrating the woodlands and forests in places where Bigfoot has been reported, including Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Washington, Oregon and Alaska. In each state, the team listens to harrowing tales of run-ins with Bigfoot before generating reconstructions of the encounters to judge their plausibility or dismiss them as hoaxes. Then, outfitted with the latest technology, including night-vision and infrared cameras, the team sets out on exhilarating and eerie investigations where any broken branch or peculiar noise could mean a Sasquatch is lurking nearby.

The BFRO Team is comprised of a former roadie (James "Bobo" Fay), a science teacher (Cliff Barackman), the BFRO president (Matt Moneymaker) and a skeptical scientist (Ranae Holland); each teammate has varying experiences with Bigfoot and differing beliefs about the existence of this enigma. What binds them together, however, is their longing to understand the creature, passion for proving its existence and willingness to stop at nothing to finally track down Bigfoot. In the end, will they verify the presence of Bigfoot and convert skeptics, or will this obscure American legend elude them too?

Season 4

The quartet continues its search, going back to the scenes of some of the most-promising excursions from past seasons and into new squatchy locations across North America.

The foursome discovers new, compelling evidence, which sparks a global excursion into China and Nepal to search for bigfoot's distant cousins, the Chinese yeren and the yeti, better known as the "Abominable Snowman." Working closely with foreign governments and local guides, the team puts its signature and unconventional bigfoot strategies to the test in unfamiliar territories, hoping to uncover the mysteries of these bi-pedal, hair-covered beasts that have captivated these countries and the world for decades.

Before jet setting around the world, the series kicks off the new season with a special trip to Fouke, Arkansas, the scene of the infamous 1972 documentary "The Legend of Boggy Creek." More than 40 years after the film's debut, reports of the "Fouke Monster" still run rampant, and the cast takes to the swamps to prove that the film was more reality that documentary. This season, the team also follows up on previous promising leads in Florida, Texas and Alabama, and utilizes an all-new technique of rigging riverboats with thermal cameras for a journey down the Mississippi River. Topping it off, the bigfoot team splits up for a special episode and competes to find the most sasquatch evidence and to determine once and for all which state is the squatchiest: Oregon or Washington.

In the season premiere, Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman and field biologist Ranae Holland are in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil to try and come face to face with a mapinguari, Brazil's bigfoot-like legend. To locate the mysterious creature, the team travels hundreds of miles up the Rio Negro and through the perilous jungle while simultaneously warding off deadly snakes and jaguars in the darkest hours of night. The team is confident its signature North American bigfoot calls can lead to a sighting of Brazil's beast.

Also in the new season, the team splits up to settle a debate about which country is more "squatchy." Cliff and Matt argue that Canada has the best potential for sighting bigfoots, while ardent patriots Bobo and Ranae assert that America is the ultimate home for bigfoots.

In the new season, the curious crypto-zoological team sets foot in new locations with modern technologies to progress the search. And in the premiere, BFRO president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman and field biologist Ranae Holland split up to determine the better sasquatch habitat: the American or Canadian wilderness. While the countries share a border, they boast different landscapes, so Cliff and Matt investigate the Canadian bush while Bobo and Ranae scour their home turf for evidence.
