Fionnula Flanagan stars in "Defiance" on Syfy as Nicky. 

Fionnula Flanagan was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, the eldest of five children. She grew up speaking both English and Gaelic and attended the Abbey Theatre School in both Dublin and Switzerland. After moving to Los Angeles in 1968, she began her career and in 1974 earned a 1974 Tony Award nomination for Best Supporting or Featured Actress (Dramatic) for her role in "Ulysses in Nighttown."

She has also had recurring TV roles on "Lost" as Eloise Hawking and in "Brotherhood" as Rose Caffee.

She now lives with her husband, psychiatrist Dr. Garrett O'Connor, in Beverly Hills.
