Fred Ward stars in "30 Minutes or Less" as "The Major."

Fred Ward, an industry veteran, was recently seen in Robert Benson's "Feast of Love." His additional recent film credits include Scott Siehl's "Exit Speed," Larry Charles' "Masked and Anonymous," Andy Tennant's "Sweet Home Alabama," Steven Gaghan's "Abandon," Michael Apted's "Enough" and Stephen Brokner's "Aka Birdseye," among others.

He is well-known for his starring roles in such films as "Tremors," "The Right Stuff," "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins," and the Robert Altman films "Short Cuts" and "The Player." His many film credits also include "Summer Catch," "Dangerous Beauty," "Chain Reaction," "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult," "Two Small Bodies," "Equinox," "Henry & June," "Miami Blues," "Big Business," "Swing Shift," "Silkwood," "Uncommon Valor" and "Escape from Alcatraz."

On television, Ward has starred in such long form projects as BBC's "Invasion: Earth," "Cast a Deadly Spell," "Four Eyes and Six Guns," and the PBS American Playhouse production of "Noon Wine," and in such series as "United States of Tara," "In Plain Sight," "ER" and "Grey's Anatomy."

He also starred in the New York debut of "Simpatico" for director Sam Shepard.
