Garret Dillahunt stars in "Raising Hope" on FOX as Burt Chance.
Born in California and raised in Washington, Garret Dillahunt studied journalism at the University of Washington and went on to earn his M.F.A. through New York University's renowned graduate acting program.
Dillahunt was recently seen in John Sayles' independent feature "Amigo" and Ryan Redford's directorial debut, "Oliver Sherman," playing the title role opposite Molly Parker and Donal Logue. He also recently appeared opposite
On the silver screen, Dillahunt is probably best known for his role as Deputy Wendell, Tommy Lee Jones's sidekick in "No Country for Old Men," which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2007. Dillahunt also co-starred in the Academy Award-nominated "The Assassination of Jesse James," opposite Brad Pitt; "The Road," with Viggo Mortenson and Charlize Theron; and Wes Craven's 2009 remake of the horror film "The Last House on the Left."
On television, Dillahunt gained recognition for his roles in the acclaimed series "Deadwood," where he portrayed two different characters: the drunkard assassin Jack McCall and the complex sociopath Francis Wolcott. Recognizing Dillahunt's talent in his first incarnation, executive producer/writer David Milch created a second, much larger character for him.
Dillahunt starred as Cromartie on FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"; co-starred in the HBO drama "John from Cincinnati," from "Deadwood" producer David Milch; portrayed a very accessible Jesus Christ in the controversial series "Book of Daniel"; and had recurring roles on FX's "Damages," opposite Glenn Close, "ER" and "The 4400." Dillahunt has also appeared in episodes of "Numb3rs," "Law & Order," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Life," "Lie to Me," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Criminal Minds," "Burn Notice" and "White Collar."
Previously, Dillahunt garnered attention for his roles in the controversial, Sundance Grand Jury prize-winning "The Believer" and the Oscar-nominated short "By Courier."
He boasts an outstanding theatrical resume and has performed extensively on and off-Broadway and at such respected theater companies as Steppenwolf, ACT San Francisco, the Seattle Reperatory Theatre, Huntington Theatre Company, Williamstown Theatre Festival and the Berkshire Theatre Festival.
