Ribisi was recently seen in Universal Pictures' "Contraband," starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale. The film is a remake of the Icelandic pic "Reykjavik-Rotterdam" and is directed by Baltasar Kormakur, who also co-wrote, produced and starred in the original. Pic follows a security guard (Wahlberg) who, after running into financial troubles, decides to go on one more smuggling run.
In 2011, Ribisi was seen in GK Films' "The Rum Diary," based on Hunter S. Thompson's early, autobiographical novel. Starring Johnny Depp, the film is the story of a journalist who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in Puerto Rico. He tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself amongst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.
Ribisi was also seen in the James Cameron feature "Avatar," which was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe and has gone on to be the highest grossing film of all time.
