Greg Serano stars in "Power" on Starz as Agent Juan Julio Medina.

An actor known for his versatility, Greg Serano has portrayed characters from saint to sinner, cop to robber, lover to fighter, friend to foe, and troubled teen to mature father figure.

Serano was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Kingsborough Community College, where he worked behind the scenes in the theater department. He found himself memorizing the lines of one of the actors in a play and boldly decided to audition for a role in the next. Serano booked the lead. He developed a complete love for acting and surprised everyone in late 1995, when he decided to leave New York and move to Los Angeles, with literally a few hundred dollars in his pocket and a dream.

Within a few months and a lot of work trying to lose his thick Brooklyn accent, Serano booked one line in the 1996 film, "The Rich Man's Wife," and shortly after, a series regular role as Gusmaro Lopez on ABC's "Dangerous Minds." Since then, he starred in ABC's "Scoundrels" and had a recurring role in ABC Family's "Wildfire." Guest-starring roles have included "The Night Shift," "The Mentalist," "Unforgettable," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "The Twilight Zone," "The Pretender," "Touched by an Angel," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "ER," "Early Edition" and "Diagnosis Murder." He was also featured in the NBC miniseries "Kingpin."

On the big screen, Serano has been seen in "Deadly Impact," opposite Sean Patrick Flanery and Joe Pantoliano, "The War Boys," McG's "Terminator Salvation," starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, "Not Forgotten" with Simon Baker, "Beer for My Horses," alongside Toby Keith, Rodney Carrington and Claire Forlani, "Felon," starring Stephen Dorff and Val Kilmer, "Conspiracy," opposite Val Kilmer, Gary Cole and Jennifer Esposito, "In the Valley of Elah," alongside Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron, "National Security," starring Martin Lawrence and Steve Zahn, "Legally Blonde," starring Reese Witherspoon, and "The Postman," starring Kevin Costner.

Serano married actress Carmen Serano in 1997. They have two lovely daughters, Cheyenne and Nya.
