Gustaf Skarsgård stars in "Vikings" on History Channel as Floki, a close friend of Ragnar's who is an eccentric jokester yet an inventive, creative boat-builder.

Gustaf Skarsgård began his acting career when he was nine years old in the Swedish film "Täcknamn Coq Rouge," which starred his father, Stellan Skarsgård. After graduating from the Swedish Academic School of Drama, Gustaf joined the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Sweden, and had lead roles in their productions of such plays as "The Merchant of Venice" and Frank Wedekind's "Lulu." More recent theatrical credits include "The Serious Game" at Stockholm City Theatre and "Patrik Age 1.5."

After making his return to feature films in 2002 in "The Invisible," Gustaf starred in "Evil," which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and for which Gustaf received a Guldbaggen (Swedish Oscars) nomination for Best Supporting Role. In 2006 he won a Guldbaggen Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for "Kidz in Da Hood." Set on a multicultural council estate in Stockholm, the film explores the issues of grief, unemployment and the plight of refugees. It also won Guldbagge Awards for Best Film, Best Direction and Best Screenplay.

In 2007 Gustaf was honored with the EFP (European Film Promotion) Shooting Star Award. More recent credits include "Arn: The Knight Templar" and its sequel "Arn: The Kingdom at Road's End," "Iskariot," Johan Kling's "Trust Me" and Peter Weir's "The Way Back," starring Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess and Colin Farrell.

He is brothers with actors Alexander Skarsgård and Bill Skarsgård.
