Leading Actress in 1993. In 1999 Tom repeated the honor, winning her second Emmy award in the same category. In 2011 she won the Emmy award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role for her work on "The Bold and the Beautiful." In 2012, Tom received her 15th Emmy nomination and her first Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. With her 2012 win, Tom set a record as the only actress to win an Emmy in all three female performer categories.

Tom's love for acting and theater is life long. A commercial actress at the age of two, she was dancing with the Seattle Pacific Ballet at age 10. By the time she was 13, she and her actor-siblings, Nicholle ("The Nanny") and David ("The Young and the Restless"), were ready to break into Hollywood. They made a temporary, trial run move to Los Angeles, found work immediately and turned an out of town tryout into a long running hit.

As a young actress, Tom studied at the Young Actor's Space, paying for each weekly session with the money she earned working at a local cookie shop. Instantly she landed guest appearances on "Kid's Incorporated" and "Who's The Boss?" Her television guest star appearances and movies of the week have been extensive, most recently having appeared on "Criminal Minds," "Rizzoli & Isles," "Monk," "Ugly Betty" and "The Mentalist." Additionally, Tom has starred in the feature films "Lessie's Rainbow" and "Lookin Good." Tom made her Broadway debut in the Mark Medoff play, "Prymate," in 2004. She played the role of Allison, the attractive interpreter with a secret and received a Robbie Theatre LA Award nomination for Best Actress.

Recognizing that she is fortunate to be not only a beautiful and talented actress but also a working actress, she is devoted to helping people who do not have the opportunities or options that she has. In 2003, Tom created Daytime for Planned Parenthood, a committee which promotes a women's right to choose and have access to the latest in medical care. This committee chairperson position has allowed her the chance to lobby Congress on behalf of Planned Parenthood three years in a row. In 2004, Tom was a featured speaker at a Democratic National Convention kick off event sponsored by Planned Parenthood and the Feminist Majority. She also worked with SheVotes.org to get out the vote in the battleground states. Tom also works very closely with several AIDS service organizations such as Project Angelfood, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and AIDS Project Los Angeles. She has volunteered in the kitchen at Project Angelfood helping to prepare meals for those who are disabled by AIDS many times as well as appearing and working at fund-raisers for many organizations.

Tom is also very politically active and was frequently featured on many political discussion shows, such as "Politically Incorrect" and "Scarborough Country." During the acclaimed run of "Politically Incorrect," she appeared a record of five times, sparring with such heavyweights as Lou Sheldon and Jerry Falwell. On "Scarborough Country," Tom had a chance to interview Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez prior to the release of that infamous movie, "Gigli." Tom was also in the running to become a co-host on "The View" after two successful appearances in October of 2003.

In her spare time, Tom is an avid athlete that competes in triathlons across the country. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband James Achor.
