Hugo Speer stars in "Bedlam" on BBC America as Warren Bettany.

British actor Hugo Speer was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire, and trained at Arts Educational school. He got his started with an appearance in the U.K. series "The Bill" before playing a small role in the film "Bhaji on the Beach." He then returned to his Yorkshire roots for his breakthrough role in the well-loved film "The Full Monty," as well-endowed team member Guy. 

Since then, he has starred in a whole host of British TV shows and movies including the popular miniseries "Hearts and Bones," "Bleak House" and "Five Days," the sitcom "Men Behaving Badly," the telefilms "Love Lies Bleeding" and "The Debt," the dramas "Echo Beach" and "Sorted," and the fourth series of "Skins."

His feature film credits include "Late Bloomers," opposite William Hurt and Isabella Rossellini, Sydney Pollack's "The Interpreter," starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, and "Deathwatch" with Jamie Bell. Speer has even branched out to directing a short film called "MAM."

On the stage, he was recently seen in the revival of Harold Pinter's "Betrayal."

In the past Speer has been linked to socialite and model Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and actress Sarah Parish. His nickname was Boggles after the early 80s pop group of the same name.
