Huo Liang is a diver competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for China.

Chinese diver Huo Liang has won three straight world titles in 10m synchro, spanning from 2007-2011 at the bi-annual meet. For the first two titles he was paired with Lin Yue, while at the 2011 Worlds he teamed up with Qiu Bo for gold. Huo and his partners beat the second-place teams by at least 40 points each time.

Huo and Lin paired up to win 10m synchro gold at the Beijing Olympics, scoring a perfect 10 for synchronization en route to the title. They totaled 468.18 points in the final, a big enough cushion to beat Germans Patrick Hausding and Sascha Klein (450.42) … Beijing was Huo's first Olympic experience after a knee injury derailed his chances of making the 2004 team.

Huo occasionally competes in individual platform, and won the event at China's National Diving Championships in March 2008. The field there did not include individual favorites Lin Yue and Zhou Luxin, and Huo said after that his focus was still on the synchronized event at the Olympics. Huo won a silver medal at the 2010 FINA World Cup in individual platform.

Huo hails from Shanghai, located about 675 miles southeast of Beijing, where he started out as a gymnast. He switched to diving at age 9, though Shanghai's diving team rejected him initially because of his short stature — Huo now stands at just 5-foot-1. Huo says his height is an advantage, as it provides more space for him to complete difficult dives. His nickname is Xiao Dian, which means Little Spot.
