InTENsity from "The X Factor" is one of the top 17 acts in the FOX reality singing competition series. The group is comprised of Nick Dean (15 years old) from Rochester, New York; Francesca Duncan (17) who grew up in Orange County, New York, but is now living in Brockport, New York; John Lindahl (14) from Travuco Canyon, California; Emily Michalak (13) from Pine Brook, New Jersey; Arin Ray (16) from Cincinnati, Ohio; Lauren Ashley Redmond (17) who is originally from Houston, Texas, but is currently residing in DeSoto, Texas; Ellona Santiago (15) from San Lorenzo, California; Ma'at Bingham Shango (12) from Houston, Texas; Austin Percario (15) and Emily Wilson (15), both from Warren, New Jersey. Austin & Emily auditioned together as the group Ausem, while the others auditioned solo. They all made it to boot camp and were initially eliminated, only to be saved by being put together to form one large group to compete under the mentorship of judge Paula Abdul.

After surviving the week at the judges homes and making it through to the live performances, John Lindahl said, "Being in a group is amazing. When you are a solo artist, you only have yourself to rely on. But when you are in a group you have however many other people who have your back. So it is better to be in a group of ten, plus it is more fun and we have more people to hang out with and it's just not as stressful."
