Ivonne Coll stars in "Switched at Birth" on ABC Family as Adriana Vasquez.

Ivonne Coll made her film debut as the "redheaded Yolanda" in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather II," which made her an international star and one of the first Puerto Rican actresses to cross over from the Latin world to Hollywood. She has shared the big screen with award-winning actors such as Al Pacino, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman, Dennis Hopper, Andy Garcia and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Coll's award-winning weekly variety show "Una Chica Llamada Ivonne Coll" was created for her by radio and TV broadcasting pioneer Rafael Perez Perry, owner of the Teleonce Network. After representing Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe Pageant, the show provided the perfect opportunity for her to showcase her singing, dancing and acting. She trained in drama directly with Lee Strassberg, comedy with Lucille Ball and music theater with David Craig. In 1972 she performed as the star of the USO Tour Puerto Rico Sings for the troops stationed in Vietnam.

On Broadway, Coll has starred and performed alongside luminaries such as Katie Bates and Jane Alexander in "Goodbye Fidel" and played the roles of Lady Macbeth in "Macbeth," the nurse in "Romeo & Juliet" and Rosalind in "As You Like It" for Joseph Papp's "Shakespeare on Broadway," directed by Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons. Coll also starred in the Tony-nominated "Chronicle of a Death Foretold" to great reviews. In 2006 she was cast as the lead in Bertolt Brecht's "Mother Courage" with the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and Tony Award winning La Jolla Playhouse, a vivid revival directed by Obie Award-winner Lisa Peterson. Coll's performance in the title role won her a Best Actress nomination by the San Francisco Bay Area Critics Circle.

Coll received the ACE Award by the NY Hispanic Media for her performance in "Orinoco" with the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater. In 2008 she won Best Actress at the Puerto Rico International Short Film Festival for "De Pura Cepa," directed by Javier Colon. She is also the recipient of the Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Performance by the San Diego Critics Circle for "Adoration of the Old Woman," written with her in mind by Academy Award-nominated writer Jose Rivera. She was also nominated for the Jefferson Award as Best Supporting actress for "Electricidad" by the Actors Equity Association. She won the prestigious Agueybana de Oro in Puerto Rico for her performance in the highly rated soap "Coralito."

Television credits include "Glee," "Nip/Tuck," "An American Family," "Six Feet Under," "NYPD Blue," "The Practice," "The Division," "Saturday Night Live," "Cold Case," "Joan of Arcadia," "LA Law," "Wings," "The Bold & the Beautiful" and "Without a Trace." In 2013 she shared the big screen with Nicole Kidman and Clive Owens on HBO's "Hemingway & Gelhorn." Most recently she starred in the feature film "Counterpunch" released by Lionsgate.
