James Franco stars in "Hollywood Heights" on Nick at Nite in the recurring role of Osborne "Oz" Silver, a passionate, intense eccentric movie mogul who lives life to the fullest, often outrageously. Funny, offbeat, seductive, ruthless when he has to be, Oz adores the moviemaking process and does whatever it takes to make the films he wants.

Franco also recurs in the daytime soap opera "General Hospital." On the big screen, Franco recently starred in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" as Will Rodman.

James Franco's metamorphosis into the title role of the TNT biopic "James Dean" earned him career-making reviews, as well as a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture made for Television. Franco also received nominations for an Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award for this memorable performance. He is also known for his starring role as Harry Osbourne in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy.

Franco was recently seen starring opposite Danny McBride and Natalie Portman in David Gordon Green's comedy "Your Highness." He also recently starred as the famous poet Allen Ginsberg in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's "Howl" with Jeff Daniels and Mary-Louise Parker. Franco also appeared in Ryan Murphy's "Eat, Pray, Love," alongside Julia Roberts, and he was a part of an all-star ensemble cast in Shawn Levy's comedy "Date Night." Franco will next be seen in Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great and Powerful."

Franco has also been seen in George C. Wolfe's "Nights in Rodanthe," starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane; Paul Haggis's "In The Valley of Elah," starring Tommy Lee Jones; Karen Moncrieff's ensemble drama "The Dead Girl"; Tommy O'Haver's drama "An American Crime," starring Catherine Keener and Ellen Page; the classic romance "Tristan and Isolde"; John Dahl's "The Great Raid"; Robert Altman's "The Company"; Nicolas Cage's directorial debut "Sonny"; as well as "City by the Sea" opposite Robert De Niro; and the Martin Scorsese produced "Deuces Wild." On television, he starred in the critically acclaimed series "Freaks and Geeks."

He has written, directed and starred in several short plays. Two of the plays were adapted into feature length films,"Fool's Gold" and "The Ape," which he produced, directed and starred in. He also wrote, directed and starred in the drama "Good Time Max." "Herbert White," a short film he wrote and directed, starring Michael Shannon, debuted at the Sundance Film festival in 2010. "The Feast of Stephen," also written and directed by Franco, premiered and won a Teddy award at the Berlin Film Festival. Additionally, Franco directed "Saturday Night," a documentary on the week-long production of a "Saturday Night Live" episode, which premiered this year at SXSW. Franco's latest film he has written and directed, "The Clerks Tale," premiered at Cannes in May. In late 2010, Franco also plans to direct two feature films—an adaptation of Charles Bukowski's "Ham on Rye" and a biography on poet, Hart Crane called "The Broken Tower."
