Jamie Hector stars in "Bosch" on Amazon as Jerry Edgar.

Jamie Hector is a native New Yorker of Haitian decent. After graduating college he studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. He began his career as the lead in the Seith Mann short film, "Five Deep Breaths," which was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival and won awards at the Cannes and Tribeca Film Festivals. The short went on to accumulate sixteen awards on the film festival circuit worldwide.

Soon after Hector joined the cast of HBO's "The Wire" as the series antagonist Marlo Stanfield. The Hollywood Reporter named him an Emmy "dark horse" and Variety called him "one of TV's most terrifying villains." At the close of "The Wire," Hector joined the cast of NBC's "Heroes" as Benjamin Knox Washington for Season 3. "Heroes" was particularly exciting for him because he was able to put his martial arts training to use. In addition, Hector has appeared in episodes of "Power," "Person of Interest," "The Strain," "Common Law," "CSI: Miami," "Lie to Me," "Mercy," "Cold Case," "The Game," "Jericho," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order."

On film, Hector has appeared in roles in "Max Payne" and "Blackout." He was also the lead opposite Kerry Washington and Anthony Mackie in the feature "Night Catches Us," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. In his more recent film "Blood Ties," he plays a detective, and in "The Magic City," he plays Tru a former soldier suffering from PTSD. "The Magic City" was nominated for best film, actor and screenplay at the 2013 American Black Film Festival.

Hector now adds writer, director and producer to his credits and is working hard on his original screenplay "Shoeshine Marvin."

In his spare time he founded Moving Mountains Inc., a non-profit New York City based theater organization, where inner-city youth from 10 to 21 can study the arts and develop their innate talents in a safe and creative environment. The organization opened its door to "at-risk" youth in 2007 and now has students in some of the best specialized schools in New York including LaGuardia High School, The Professional Children's School, Brooklyn School of the Arts and The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Hector has been honored many times for his dedication to youth and hard work providing resources and assistance to those in need.
