When did you first start singing?
Age 5 … Even earlier (before

I can remember).

What role does music play in your life?

Music is my number one priority. I'm married to my craft and my goal is to be a powerhouse in the music industry and an inspiration for all creative women. It is my escape, my heart, and there is no "Plan B."

What makes you unique?

My work ethic is now, and has always been, untouchable. It is what I am proudest of. I'm always in relentless pursuit of perfection and I know I was born to do this. What really makes me unique is that I really don't spend a lot of time thinking about the short term. All my hard work goes toward the idea of having longevity in the industry and in the world. I hope that my writing, my music, and my voice will make me immortal.

Do you have a wish list of writers you'd like to write with? If so, who?

Of course! My dream co-writers would be… Sia (my favorite), Dr. Luke, Pink, Hayley Williams, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Benny Blanco, Ester Dean, Max Martin and a butt-load more…

What are your top three all-time favorite songs and why?

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" — Ever since I was a little girl it's been a challenge for me to tackle that song, and I refused to perform it until I could give it justice. My dad introduced me to the song when I was really little and to this day it paints a solid picture of the friendship I have with him. (I even have the lyrics "Sail on silver girl…" tattooed on my neck).

"Bobby McGee" — The first song that turned me on to my all-time inspiration, Janis Joplin. I have been singing this song since I was 11 years old in little rock bands. I even sang it once in Washington Square Park about 5 years ago when I was panhandling — a group of homeless musicians chimed in.

"Don't Rain on My Parade" — I almost feel like the epic-ness of this tune is self-explanatory … But then I remember not everyone is a theater geek like me. A lot of my childhood consisted of musical theater and this song has been, and still is, such an anthem for me. It is the ultimate "I am a star and I know it" piece. Barbara is truly stellar.

What is your strongest musical strength?

My ear for pop music…I think it's a major advantage that I create for my own age group/target audience.

What is your greatest musical weakness?

I have total OCD. Nothing is ever finished for me and I never know how to completely accept a final product.

Who are your yop three favorite and most influential artists? What is it about your favorite artists that you are drawn to?

1. Pink is my favorite badass. I love her style, her stage presence, the feeling in her lyrics, her physical shape, her voice, and just her overall vibe. She is the poster-child for cool in my eyes. Pink is really empowering…and her poster is totally hanging in my studio.

2. Janis Joplin. For me, she hits a vocal sweet spot. She has this raw combination of soul, pain, pleasure, range, and power in her voice. She's always inspired me to feel. Janis showed the world how vulnerable and powerful she could be at the same time, which really ties into the kind of artist I strive to be. My goal is to be real. She was an incredible performer and she always knew how to make love to the crowd.

3. Barbara Streisand. Vocally, she is a monster. That goes without saying…But also she will last forever. She is golden in the music industry and her talent will speak for itself for generations to come. That is my dream.

If you had to pattern your career after another artist, who would it be and why?

Lady Gaga. She started where I started and we have a very similar work ethic/drive. Gaga was able to start a massive movement through her art and her talent… that's my ultimate goal.

Why do you think you should be the next "American Idol"?

I am the next "American Idol." Music is my entire life. I plan on taking over the industry and changing the world…I'll never stop working. It's not a matter of "if" ... it's when. I've always been a huge fan of the show and I couldn't think of a better opportunity to grow and inspire people around the world. I know I only have such a small block of time in my life to leave a footprint on this earth before I'm no longer here. I was born to be on stage and touch people with my gift. This is the launching pad of a lifetime…
