Jenny McCarthy is the host of both VH1's "The Jenny McCarthy Show" and NBC's reality adventure dating competition series, "Love in the Wild."

Jenny McCarthy is an actress, comedian, writer, and host. In 1992 she was studying nursing at Southern Illinois University. In an attempt to make money for college, she submitted her picture to Playboy magazine. She was chosen to be the centerfold in the October 1993 issue and was subsequently named Playmate of the Year in 1994. Her success as a model led to her quitting college and moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in show business.

In 1995 McCarthy was hired by MTV to co-host a new series, "Singled Out." She became a popular success on the series due to her good looks and sense of humor. She had two short-lived television series: "The Jenny McCarthy Show," a variety show, and "Jenny," a sitcom. She has also appeared in the movies "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead" (1995), "The Stupids" (1996), "BASEketball" (1998) and "Scream 3" (2003).

Dutton Publishing wisely closed a deal with this highly-regarded NY Times Best Selling author, and her sixth book was released in September, 2008. Her previous books, which include the bestsellers "Louder Than Words," "Life Laughs," "Baby Laughs," and "Belly Laughs," showcase her candid, witty, and fun-loving personality. Like Jenny McCarthy's earlier books, "Louder than Words" also appeared on Bestseller Lists in USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Los Angeles Times and Wall Street Journal.

Perhaps it is these innate qualities that contribute to her undeniable accessibility factor, which has drawn endorsement and sponsorship deals throughout the ad community. In 2006, McCarthy began working with Weight Watchers, encouraging healthy living and nutrition among moms trying to lose weight post pregnancy. Her refreshingly honest approach generated mass public appeal and, hence, a role as Weight Watcher's national spokesperson for their 2007 ad campaign, "Be an After. Stay an After."

In addition to appearing in a multitude of campaigns, including the memorable Candie's shoes, McCarthy has graced the covers of magazines across the world, including Newsweek, Rolling Stone, People and Playboy. The diversity in her resume not only boasts a fierce combination of intelligence and sex appeal but praises her comedic talent as well. Playing recurring guest roles on major network television shows, such as "Two and a Half Men," "Just Shoot Me," and "The Drew Carey Show," she has established herself as a sought-after comedic actress.

McCarthy currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her son, Evan. She remains dedicated to her mission of fighting autism and was recently named the international spokesperson for the Talk About Curing Autism Now organization. She has had interviews with Oprah, Larry King, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, People Magazine, Ellen DeGeneres, and CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on the topic of autism. McCarthy's unique ability to articulate the unspoken words of thousands of mothers and fathers across the world was recognized immediately, and she is now fielding hundreds of requests per week for interviews, speaking engagements, and public appearances nationwide.
