Jessica Raine stars in "Call the Midwife" on PBS as nurse Jenny Lee, who arrives at Nonnatus House in 1957, at the age of 22, completely unaware of the world she is about to enter.

Welsh actress Jessica Raine was previously seen as the nanny in the horror film "The Woman in Black," starring Daniel Radcliffe, and as Princess Isabel of Gloucester in the action-adventure film "Robin Hood" (2010), starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. On UK television, Raine appeared in a couple of episodes of BBC's legal series "Garrow's Law."

Raine graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2008 and soon afterwards was cast as Lesley Sharpe's Goth daughter in Simon Stephens' play "Harper Regan." Next came David Hare's New Labour play, "Gethsemane," where she played the drug-addicted 16-year-old daughter of Tamsin Greig's home secretary Raine also won plaudits for her National Theatre performances in "Earthquakes in London" and "Rocket to the Moon" and performed with Henry Lloyd-Hughes in the original production of "Punk Rock" at Lyric Hammersmith. She more recently starred in "The Changeling" at the Young Vic.
