Jillian Rose Reed stars in "Awkward" on MTV as Tamara, one of Jenna Hamilton's (Ashley Rickards) two best friends. The role marks Reed's series regular debut.
Jillian Rose Reed was previously best known for playing the recurring role of Simone on Showtime's comedy "Weeds." She has also made guest appearances in ABC's "The Middle," NBC's "Community," HBO's "Hung" and Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101." In addition, she has appeared in television commercials for Ford Motor Company, Best Buy's Geek Squad,
Reed developed her love for the stage and her passion for singing, dancing and acting at a summer theater camp. By the time Reed was thirteen, she had performed in over thirty musicals at the theater in her hometown of Northville, Michigan, including "Hairspray," "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Wizard of Oz." Landing the lead role in most of these productions, Reed found the stage to be her home-away-from-home where endless hours of rehearsals and performances had become a major part of her daily schedule. Reed's passion for the industry continued to grow, as did her love for the camera when she signed on with a Michigan talent agent and booked several commercials and voice-overs in the Greater Detroit and Chicago markets. These jobs gave her the jump-start she needed to persuade her parents to take her to Hollywood. Jillian's frequent commutes soon turned into a permanent move when Reed booked a spot as a performer in the teen comedy troupe "LOL" along with several independant films.
Reed's passions also include singing, songwriting and playing the guitar.
Her brother is actor Robbie Tucker ("The Young and the Restless").
