Jim Moret is the chief correspondent for the syndicated newsmagazine "Inside Edition." In Los Angeles, he covers human interest stories, high profile celebrity news, and fast breaking hard news. He recently was dispatched to the tragic scene in Aurora, Colorado, to report on the largest mass shooting in the history of the United States.

As in past seasons, Jim Moret was in high demand by numerous media outlets to provide his keen legal commentary on high-profile trials. In November 2011 when Michael Jackson's doctor was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, Moret had the rare distinction of being the only on-air legal commentator who had predicted that outcome just shortly after the King of Pop's death in June of 2009. Moret has reported extensively on and provided legal analysis for numerous high-profile court cases including the murder trials of Phil Spector, Robert Blake and Scott Peterson, the Michael Jackson molestation case, O.J. Simpson's criminal trial in Las Vegas and the Anna Nicole Smith paternity hearings.

Before Larry King retired from CNN, Moret was a frequent guest and guest host of the popular "Larry King Live." Most recently, Moret has filled in as guest host of HLN's "Jane Velez Mitchell" and he remains a frequent legal contributor and guest for news programs on both CNN and HLN.

Moret's inspirational memoir, "The Last Day of My Life," was his first book which landed him appearances on "Dr. Phil," "Today," "Joy Behar" and numerous other television and radio shows. He continues to be a prolific and popular blogger on The Huffington Post. He blogs about both serious topics ("This Recession Is Depressing," "Is There Sexism in Celebrity Justice?" and "Facebook and Faith") and some (like "Kris & Kim Kaput!" and "50 Shades of Yay!") that are not to be taken seriously at all.

In addition, Moret has conducted jailhouse interviews with convicted murderer Susan Polk and continued to follow the Phil Spector trial, obtaining exclusive footage and interviews with Spector's wife and his assistant, as well as an exclusive tour of Spector's famed mansion called The Castle.

Moret has an extensive 21-year resume covering entertainment news ranging from red carpet interviews to celebrity court cases, including the legal travails of Lindsay Lohan and the civil claims Nicollette Sheridan filed against ABC, and also high profile divorces, including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. He has covered countless premieres for "Inside Edition," as well as all the major entertainment events including the Emmys, Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

Before joining "Inside Edition," the veteran journalist was with CNN for nearly a decade, serving as co-anchor of the long-running "Showbiz Today," as well as co-anchor of CNN's main newscast, "The World Today," and anchor of CNN's "NewsNight."

Moret anchored many breaking news stories and live events during his tenure at CNN, including the terrorist bombing of the USS Cole and the 2000 Democratic National Convention. He also served as chief anchor for CNN's gavel-to-gavel coverage of the O.J. Simpson criminal trial, and anchor and analyst for Simpson's civil trial.

After leaving CNN, Moret hosted a series of specials for ABC, and, for three years, co-hosted the Academy Awards pre-show for the network. He was also guest anchor on the "KTLA Morning News in Los Angeles" and on Fox 5's "Good Day New York."

Moret began his television career at KABC-TV as a legal and general assignment reporter. He then worked as a reporter for KCBS-TV and eventually was named anchor of the station's morning newscast. He moved to Twentieth Television's "Personalities" as senior correspondent, before co-hosting "EDJ-Entertainment Daily Journal."

He and his wife have three children and live in Los Angeles.
