Joey McIntyre stars in "The McCarthys" on CBS as Gerard.

Joey McIntyre has always rocked crowds. As part of the never-ending pop phenomenon that is the boy band New Kids on the Block, he became an icon, with over 80 million albums sold and countless sold-out shows worldwide.

It's on his solo material, however, that McIntyre truly gets the chance to shine. In 1998, he dropped his debut, "Stay the Same." Elevated by the chart-topping title track, the record quickly exceeded platinum status. Joey followed it up with fan favorite "Meet Joe Mac" in 2001. He continued to tour the world incessantly. However, he found the time to drop "8:09" in 2004 and a very personal collection of cover tunes, "Talk to Me," in 2006. This fifth album shows Joey at his finest and fieriest though. McIntyre then released the albums "Here We Go Again" in 2009 and "Come Home for Christmas" in 2011.

As an adult, McIntyre branched out to the stage and screen, engaging audiences as a season regular on David Kelley's drama series "Boston Public" and in films such as "On Broadway" and "Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding," sharing the screen with everyone from Adrian Grenier to Mila Kunis. More recently, McIntyre was seen in Garry Marshall's romantic comedy "New Year's Eve," alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher, and Paul Feig's action comedy "The Heat," starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. IN addition, McIntyre had successful stints in the Broadway productions of "Tick Tick ... Boom!" and "Wicked."

On television, McIntyre was a contestant on the first season of ABC's reality ballroom competition series "Dancing with the Stars." He and his professional dance partner, Ashly Delgrosso, came in third place overall. Guest-starring appearances include "90210," "Motive," "Psych," "CSI: NY" and "Less Than Perfect."

In 2008, McIntyre joined the New Kids on the Block reunion tour. The group went on tour again with the Backstreet Boys in 2011.
