John Ross Bowie stars in "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS in the recurring role of Barry Kripke. He also recently recurred in TV Land's "Retired at 35" as Jared.

John Ross Bowie started studying improv under the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in 1998. He appeared in several shows at their NYC space, including 2 years in "Feature Feature," numerous sketch comedy shows with The Naked Babies, and his one man opus "Paid to Stand Around."

Bowie moved to Los Angeles in 2002, when the town was mostly just farms, and has appeared on "Good Luck Charlie," "Whitney," "The League," "Happy Endings," "The Exes," "House of Lies," "Bones," "Burn Notice," "Melissa & Joey," "Weeds," "The Glades," "Party Down," "Glee," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Wizards of Waverly Place," "Monk," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Heroes," "Psych," "Charmed," "Las Vegas," "Reno 911!" and "CSI: NY," among others. He had a series regular role in the short-lived comedy "A.U.S.A." and a recurring role in Adult Swim's dark comedy "Childrens Hospital."

His film work includes "Road Trip," "What the Bleep Do We Know?," "Santa Clause 3," "Because I Said So," "Sex Drive" and "He's Just Not That into You."
