Born in Washington D.C., Jonathan Banks is best known for his tough-guy image. His acting career has spanned five decades in film, television and theater. Banks began his career in the musical "Hair" in 1968. Among his film credits are "Stir Crazy," "Beverly Hills Cop," "48 Hrs.," "Gremlins," "Dark Blue," "Frances," "Boiling Point," "Cold Steel," "Flipper," "Freejack," "There Goes the Neighborhood" and "Reign Over Me."

television, Banks was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in "Wiseguy" as Frank McPike. He co-starred as Dutch Schultz in "The Gangster Chronicles" and as Guy Mann in the comedy "Fired Up," opposite Sharon Lawrence. Recurring roles include ABC's "Day Break" and NBC's "E-Ring." He has also appeared in a number of television movies, including "Unwanted Attentions," "Blind Sue," "Don't Touch My Daughter" and "The Long Kill." Recent guest roles include "CSI: Miami," "Two and a Half Men," "Modern Family," "Lie to Me," "Castle," "Cold Case," "Eli Stone" and "ER," among many others.
