Josh Radnor stars in "How I Met Your Mother" as Ted, the central character on the CBS Emmy-nominated series.
Josh Radnor's talent extends beyond acting as he has established himself as a both gifted writer and director. Radnor recently wrote, directed and starred in his first feature film, "Happythankyoumoreplease." The film debuted at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won the audience award for favorite U.S. drama as chosen by Sundance fans. Additionally, his memoir, "One Big Blissful Thing," will be published by Simon & Schuster.
On the stage, Radnor appeared in several off-Broadway plays at the Vineyard Theater, Manhattan Theater Club and the Blue Light Theater Company. He made his Broadway debut as the title character in "The Graduate" opposite Kathleen Turner and Alicia Silverstone. Additionally, Radnor starred on stage in writer Joe Gilford's play, "Finks," at the Powerhouse Theatre, which was staged on the grounds of Vassar College.
Feature film credits include "Not Another Teen Movie." He has also had numerous guest starring roles on the small screen, including "Judging Amy," "Welcome to NY," "Miss Match," "ER," "Six Feet Under" and "Law & Order." He was a series regular on "The Court."
Radnor was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He began acting in high school when he auditioned on a whim and landed one of the leading roles in the musical "Oklahoma!" He later attended Kenyon College, where he won the Paul Newman Acting Trophy. After college, he moved to New York, where he received his Masters of Fine Arts in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
