Julian Glover stars in "Game of Thrones" on HBO as as Grand Maester Pycelle, the aging master of King's Landing and a member of the King's small council.

A classically trained stage actor, Julian Glover got his start performing on stage in England, including many roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He began to appear in British television during the 1960s and 1970s, and has gone on to appear in many films and television shows on both sides of the Atlantic.

In film, Glover is best known for his roles in several iconic American films: as General Maximilian Veers in "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back," the Bond villain Aristotle Kristatos in "For Your Eyes Only," and Walter Donovan in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." His more recent film credits include "Scoop," "The Young Victoria," "Troy," "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and "King Ralph."

Glover's numerous British television credits include "The Chief," "Lovejoy," "Degrees of Error," "Walking the Dead" and "Silent Witness."

Glover remains active on stage and recently played Mr. Brownlow in a major West End revival of the musical "Oliver!" He has won two Laurence Olivier Awards for performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company: one for Best Actor when he played the titular role in Shakespeare's "Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2," and another for Best Supporting Actor in the RSC production of "Henry V."

His son, Jamie Glover, is also an acclaimed actor.
